About Larry

Larry or Amy is a mum of 2 beautiful boys aged 6 and 2yrs. I have a wonderful, supportive husband who lets me stay up to the wee hours and puts up with creative mess all over the kitchen table, on the lounge and in the studio........  My favourite saying is "A dull woman has an immaculate house."

I love to create on the sewing machine and have a special soft spot for felt. With no success in finding good quality felt in Australia, Happy as Larry was born. We use handmade felt from Nepal to create soft storage solutions, homewares, toys and more. Whilst some of our products are made in Nepal, most are handmade or part made by me here in Australia. 

I have a degree in Fine Arts (textiles) and taught primary and secondary art for many years. I live in one of the most isolated cities in the world but the most beautiful; Perth. 

No one is really sure who Larry was but we all know he must have been a pretty jovial guy. The saying "as happy as Larry " is thought to have originated in Australia or N.Z in the 1920's.
